Word 8 of the Ten is
"You shall not steal." I am thankful that Jesus stole. He stole my sins at the cross. He stole Satan's dream of power by walking out of His tomb. He stole the ease of legalism by "filling full" the commandments [
"You have heard it said...but I say....]. He stole fear by letting me know how the story will end. He stole my heart...he stole my heart...he stole my heart!
Hmmmm.... To me stealing is taking something that you have no right to possess. Did he steal my sins? No, he paid for them with his flesh and blood and with his life! Did he steal the ease of legalism? No, he took the poison and put it way up high where the children can't reach it. (Of course the child might still pull up the chair of "free will" and get to it anyway.) Did he steal fear? No, he comforted his children and quieted fear by assuring them that they are safe and "loving" them away. Did he steal my heart? No, I gave it to him, willingly and joyfully.
ReplyDeleteIs Jesus a thief? Well, I guess he is because he certainly did steal the enemy's dream of power and supremecy!!!
Thank God.
